Veelain - AFTER A BUTTERFLY DIES
Veelain's new EP, "After a Butterfly Dies," consists of three tracks he calls "movements." The inspiration might be classical, but the sound showcases a metamorphosis in the Porto-based producer's music.
After releasing his first record, Veelain has woven a new cocoon, from which he now emerges with new wings. With them, he travels through sonic landscapes where there's time and space to reflect and contemplate. In this introspective exercise, the music is guided by the profound words of a British poet – John Keats, connecting the audience to the inspiration behind the music:
The idea behind this EP comes from one of the letters sent by Keats to his lover, Fanny Brawne:
"I almost wish we were butterflies and liv'd but three summer days - three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain".
The living nature that eventually dies, the idealistic search for love, and the inevitable end are the starting points for a reflection that delivers introspective music, the kind that, more than making us dance, invites us to levitate, like a butterfly who flies for the last time.
