EVAWAVE - aurora
EVAWAVE introduced herself as part of Monster Jinx with her ‘Mint Chocolate Gravity’. Her fusion of neo-soul hip hop with downtempo electronica is now bearing new fruit with the anticipation of a new album.
‘AURORA’ – and the upcoming EP – represents a period of personal discovery; of letting transitions happen; of changing and embracing the sunrise. Without fear. And it is aboard a powerful bass, crossing melodious galaxies and silky voices that this is done.
EVAWAVE anticipates an EP that illuminates this path, be it aesthetic, personal, psychological, emotional, or all of the above. The music of the purple crew's newest artist inhabits a space where strength and softness coexist harmoniously. This usually results in beats that want to be hip hop and R&B with just the right dose of electronica. Captivating, ethereal, yet luminous. At least that's how it's been so far... the future is yet to be revealed.
A new machine drove this new theme. The artist got her hands on a MicroKorg and that was enough to trigger new ideas. ‘It was the first track that took me months to compose, insisting on it. It was like a genuine need to want to see it out there because of everything I felt when I first heard it, because of its meaning.’
